Jules Verne's Rocket to the Moon

Jules Verne's Rocket to the Moon

1967

Loosely based on Jules Verne's 'From the Earth to the Moon', this comedy film is low on scifi and low on comedy. It changes the main character of the book to a parody of P.T. Barnum, who is intent on becoming the first man on the moon. Barnum is played by Burl Ives, which is probably the highlight of this version. It was released in the US as 'Those Fantastic Flying Fools'.
